Amtoft, Anja [1].

Dermatocarpon of the Ozarks (Verrucariaceae).

As part of an ongoing Lichen Flora of the Ozarks, the genus Dermatocarpon is revised for the region. Extensive field collections were made and maximum parsimony analysis of 134 fungal rDNA (ITS and LSU) sequences was performed.  Based on morphological and molecular data seven species of Dermatocarpon are present in the Ozarks, four are new to science. Two of the new species exhibit strict ecological preferences.
